About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced *Warehouse Design Lead* to support a major pharmaceutical manufacturing project. This individual will lead warehouse design activities from concept through construction and commissioning while collaborating with engineering, supply chain, quality, and automation teams to deliver a highly efficient, GMP-compliant warehouse facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with experience in pharmaceutical or other highly regulated manufacturing environments who have strong expertise in warehouse design, material handling, automation integration, and large capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development of warehouse design concepts, layouts, and engineering specifications.
* Manage warehouse design through conceptual, basic, detailed design, construction support, and commissioning phases.
* Design and optimize warehouse layouts, including:
* Receiving and shipping areas
* Storage and distribution areas
* Cold storage
* Flammable material storage
* Quarantine areas
* Sampling and inspection spaces
* Ensure efficient flow of materials, personnel, and equipment throughout the facility.
* Collaborate with automation teams to integrate:
* Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)
* Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs)
* Conveyor systems
* Pallet handling systems
* Coordinate with Architecture & Engineering firms and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
* Partner with Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, Quality, Facilities, Utilities, Construction, and Commissioning teams.
* Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, safety regulations, and corporate engineering standards.
* Support project planning, design schedules, budget alignment, and risk mitigation activities.
* Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and qualification while resolving design-related issues.
* Ensure the completed warehouse design meets operational, quality, and performance expectations.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Supply Chain, or a related technical discipline.
* Minimum *8 years* of experience in warehouse, logistics, industrial, or pharmaceutical facility design.
* Experience designing warehouse layouts and material flow.
* Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
* Strong understanding of warehouse operations and facility infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other GMP-regulated industries.
* Knowledge of warehouse automation technologies, including ASRS, AGVs, robotics, conveyor systems, and pallet handling.
* Experience supporting EPCM or Design-Build capital projects.
* Familiarity with construction support, commissioning, and qualification activities.
* Excellent communication, coordination, and project leadership skills.
