*Overview: *

The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) funds the HIDTA Program focused on reducing drug trafficking and its harmful consequences, particularly drug abuse and drug-related crime and violence. The HIDTA program and the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Bureau have established a partnership to reduce drug-related gun violence through an established ATF platform designed to share gun crime intelligence. The ATF Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) is an interagency collaboration designed to collect, analyze, and distribute intelligence related to gun crime violence. CGIC is an essential component of the PRVI HIDTA strategy with a mission to provide intelligence support and analytical assistance to law enforcement investigations.

The PRVI HIDTA is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of *Crime Gun Intelligence Analyst*. This is a position that is contingent upon annual HIDTA funding provided by ONDCP. The position will support the PRVI HIDTA CGIC initiative and share information with the PRVI HIDTA Investigative Support Center (ISC) also located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

*Responsibilities:*

· Provide analytical and intelligence gathering support to ATF.

·Perform in-depth analysis of raw primary and secondary data queried from various sources, i.e. internal and external automated database systems, intelligence reports and investigative cases.

· Compile all data necessary to provide ATF with actionable law enforcement investigative leads.

· Access local, state, federal, and national intelligence information databases to respond to requests for information.

· Collaborate with law enforcement to analyze crime gun data in a timely manner to guide crime gun intelligence referrals and investigative leads.

· Perform basic triaging, imaging, and correlation reviews.

· Use a variety of resources, including crime mapping technology, data visualization tools, and timeline tools to build actional intelligence/data products.

· Create link charts for investigative lead purposes.

· Conduct Trace Analysis of documented trends.

· Facilitate the restoration of obliterated serial numbers and ensure that those firearms are traced.

· Utilize NESS (NIBIN Enforcement Support System) for daily entry of local RMS (Records Management Systems) event information associated with ballistic evidence entered in NIBIN, review and triage results, and report on success stories.

· Handle, operate and test-fire a variety of firearms and ammunition following all safety procedures.

· Coordinate intelligence gathering efforts with law enforcement partners to identify areas with high percentage of criminal activity and individuals who drive criminal conduct in both drug and firearms related crimes.

· Gather and utilize data to assist in driving decisions regarding investigations and prosecution utilizing crime gun intelligence information related to NIBIN, eTrace, and other data sources.

· Identify and verify crime trends and provide answers to real-time patterns and conditions.

· Ensure data conformity with recognized procedures and protocols, including accuracy of trace and NIBIN information.

· Provide IBIS (Integrated Ballistic Identification System) training, if approved as a NIBIN authorized trainer.

*Qualification and Skill Requirements:*

· Must be a U.S. citizen and legally authorized to work in the United States.

· Hiring will be subject to successfully obtaining and maintaining a Security Clearance.

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

· Experience in synthesizing and interpreting data, preparing, and presenting reports, research in writing.

· Strong communication skills. Fully bilingual. Proficiency in English and Spanish.

· Strong command in writing skills in both languages (English and Spanish) is a must.

· Solid command of Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), including expertise in formatting and design of reports, link charges, graphs, and tables.

· Ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

· Be able to work effectively in an interagency environment with federal, state, and local law enforcement and intelligence professionals.

*Contract Term:*

· One year upon annual performance review.

· Upon HIDTA funding provided by ONDCP.

*Compensation:* $60,****** - $70,******
