Position:Environmental Manager

Location: Manatí, PR

Key Responsibilities

Provides technical and regulatory guidance on all environmental programs.
Proactive identification, evaluation, and control of physical and chemical and environmental hazards that could impact people, environment, compliance and/or property.
Development of proper procedures, work practices, equipment to use to ensure compliance with all legal requirement and regulations (Air, Water and Waste Management Programs)
Conduct environmental self-assessment to ensure compliance with applicable local, federal regulations and company directives.
Reviews changes, capital renovations and new construction projects to ensure environmental, industrial hygiene and safety situations are included to ensure compliance.
A BMS liaison person with legal and regulatory agencies during site audits and inspections, permit renovations and as Site contact for EHS community outreach activities such as the LEPC.
Responsible to lead the implementation of the Environmental program for the site which include the following duties.
Develops and delivers or coordinates effective environmental training s that are compliant with local/, federal and corporate requirement.
Leads Environmental Permits and Reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Reports to her supervisor or delegate any new requirement, deviation to permits and potential regulatory changes.
Maintains environmental records, manages environmental sampling, reports monitoring results, and recommends control measures to management.
Oversight the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, Well usage to facilitate regulatory compliance and reporting to agencies.
Classifies, handles, and disposes of hazardous waste, pharmaceutical waste, medical wastes in compliance with all company standards and regulatory agencies.
Prepares all environmental plans and required reports and assures these are submitted on time.
Develops and leads the efforts of the reduction of hazardous waste, corporate's initiatives for zero waste to landfill and provides technical guidance on sustainability projects.
Maintains statistics, develops reports, and files official reports with regulatory agencies.
Participates in process hazard reviews of new and existing equipment to ensure environmental, is considered in the evaluation.
Leads the environmental programs Water – storm water and pre-treatment, waste management (hazardous, nonhazardous, used oil, universal and biomedical waste) and Air program.
the environmental incident investigations program to determine rood cause and develop action plan to avoid recurrence and follows-up to ensure improvements are implemented.
Actively participate in the site's EHS Committee.
Keeps abreast of current technologies and regulatory trends.
Reviews change control to assure that the required EHS requirements are included.
Actively participates in the Tiers structures, if assigned.
Supports the department to comply with the budget to assure controlled expenses within established goal.
Performs other related responsibilities, as required.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in chemistry engineering or related EH&S field.
At least five (5) years of experience working at Environmental, Health and Safety in the Pharmaceutical industry, preferred.
Fully cognizant of applicable Federal and Commonwealth rules and regulations
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
Capable of working with minimal direct supervision.
Good interpersonal skills
Critical Thinking
Excellent problems solving skills.
Computer knowledge (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS Teams, among others)
Potable Water and WWTP License, preferred.
Fully Bilingual (Spanish and English).
