Accounting And Tax Manager — Potential Partnership Opportunity

Veguilla CPA Group, PSC is growing, and we are seeking an experienced accounting and tax professional to help lead our team as we expand. This person will review client accounting work, supervise engagements during tax season, and help train and develop our staff and seniors. The position will be based at our main office in Cayey and will work closely with the Firm's owner, José F. Veguilla, CPA.

Responsibilities

* Review bookkeeping completed by staff and seniors, including reconciliations, account classifications, adjusting entries, and supporting schedules.
* Ensure client accounting records are complete, accurate, and ready for year-end tax preparation.
* Supervise tax preparation engagements, monitor deadlines, resolve technical questions, and review returns within the authority assigned based on experience and demonstrated judgment.
* Provide timely guidance, constructive review notes, and practical training to staff and seniors.
* Strengthen accounting procedures, workpaper standards, and review processes.
* Communicate with clients regarding accounting and tax matters and help manage engagement progress.

Qualifications

* Substantial public accounting experience in accounting review and tax review.
* Working knowledge of Puerto Rico and federal taxation relevant to the Firm's clients.
* Ability to supervise engagements, manage deadlines, and develop accounting professionals.
* Strong technical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to teamwork.
* CPA license is preferred.

Compensation

Compensation will be discussed and mutually agreed upon based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, anticipated responsibilities, and interest in pursuing a future partnership opportunity.
