2026-2027 Pnhs Community Impact Storytelling Vista

Ponce Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc. is a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening individuals, families, and communities across southern and central Puerto Rico through housing counseling, financial education, community development, entrepreneurship, and education. PNHS promotes housing stability, financial well-being, and economic opportunity. As PNHS expands its programs and services, there is a need to strengthen organizational systems for documenting and communicating their impact. Meaningful outcomes, participant experiences, community perspectives, lessons learned, and program successes are generated across departments but are not always consistently captured, organized, and transformed into organizational knowledge. This VISTA project will strengthen PNHS's capacity to systematically document, organize, and communicate program outcomes and community impact. The VISTA member will develop sustainable tools, processes, and resources to identify meaningful outcomes, document community experiences and participant perspectives, organize qualitative and visual information, and develop impact narratives demonstrating the value of PNHS programs and services. The project will establish storytelling and impact documentation systems that support organizational learning, grant development, reporting, presentations, partnerships, community engagement, and public awareness. The VISTA member will also develop a centralized repository of stories, testimonials, photographs, videos, program outcomes, and lessons learned. By strengthening these systems and staff capacity, PNHS will be better positioned to preserve institutional knowledge, document community experiences, demonstrate program outcomes, and communicate its impact to diverse audiences. The tools, resources, and processes developed will remain with PNHS beyond the VISTA service term, supporting long-term organizational capacity and sustainability.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA member will strengthen PNHS's capacity to document and communicate community impact by developing and piloting sustainable tools, processes, and resources for impact storytelling. The member will collaborate with program staff to identify outcomes, participant experiences, community perspectives, and lessons learned; develop processes for collecting and organizing written, photographic, video, and multimedia impact content; and establish a centralized repository. The member will develop and pilot storytelling templates, guidelines, and sample impact resources for use in reports, proposals, presentations, partnerships, and organizational communications. The member will also document processes and develop sustainable practices that PNHS staff can continue using beyond the VISTA's service term.
